We are now into the implementing phase of the BASICS model (Figure 7.1). To recap, we have base-
lined the project, assessed the project, and developed and suggested solutions. We typically report
out to the senior leadership team. The report outs can be held after each phase (letter in the BASICS
model) or based on agreed up-front milestones in the team charter. Some hospitals call these report
outs “tollgate or phase gate reviews.”
