Performance Measurement in the Digital Age

Abstract

Since the introduction and rise of electronic library resources and services, there has been a tendency to treat these areas as different or separate from the more traditional functions of library provision. This chapter acknowledges this difference in approach but concludes that ultimately library provision in the digital age is simply a more advanced version of traditional library provision with epistemic and societal outcomes at its core.
