Libraries in the information society: cooperation and identity
Like most European countries, the Netherlands has ambitious targets for the knowledge society. In a knowledge-based society, economic growth, instead of being generated by the traditional production factor of labour, is generated by knowledge. Three elements are of fundamental importance within this development: the (financial) investment in knowledge; education and training standards; and innovative capabilities.
