Conclusion: user needs and library technology
Where do humans fit in to the emerging world of information provision? Humans serve as the driving force behind what questions to ask and what answers to give, leveraging technology as a means to these ends. Technology is not a replacement for humans but rather an ally in carrying out repetitive tasks, thus enabling librarians to work interactively with users or spend more time ensuring their users’ needs are met. It is not critical for your future survival to be the best at technology – just do not be at the end of the pack. Fear not technology but rather embrace the ways it can help you do the age-old job of meeting the information needs of users more efficiently.
