more convenient length to act as a short lever arm
and reduce rear end squat of the car during acceler-
ation. Apart from this anti-squat effect it likewise
confers an anti-dive effect when the axle casing is
resisting brake torque reaction.
6 The semi-torque tube still remains more complicated
than a Hotchkiss drive, but is less complicated than
the driving arrangements for independently sprung
rear wheels, with which system of suspension it has
often been favourably compared.
