Photography offers a wide variety of challenging career opportunities, especially for independent-minded individuals. There are about 130,000 working photographers in the United States today. Due to the growing demand for photo-based images in our society, photography jobs are predicted to rise about 10 to 12 percent through 2012. People interested in pursuing a photographic career are typically imaginative, visually curious, possess a good sense of design, and enjoy making their own photographs and acquiring technical knowledge to improve their craft.
