About the Authors
Glen D. Gillen is an Associate Professor in the Physics Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (more affectionately known as “Cal Poly”).
Dr. Gillen grew up in south Florida and moved to Ohio in 1990 to begin his academic journey at Denison University, Granville, OH, where he earned a B.S. in physics with a minor in mathematics in 1994. From 1994–1997, he attended Miami University, Oxford, OH, where he received an M.S. in physics and an MAT in secondary education. In 1997, he continued his post-baccalaureate education at The Ohio State University, Columbus, where he received another M.S. in physics in 2001 and a Ph.D. in physics in 2002.
