8.2 Dynamic Lighting
In Chapter 1 (“Basic Principles of Light and Vision”) we discussed the human
internal clock called the circadian rhythm and that it is regulated and affected by
natural light changes which, in turn, vary the melatonin levels throughout the day.
However, in modern societies, humans spend more time in articial and indoor
environments where natural light is absent and the lighting environment is simply
static. It is important to try to recreate these natural rhythms of light in order to
