5.1.1 Finite Element Approach
The magnetic circuits of stepping motors are frequently highly saturated. Therefore, it is often difficult to calculate and analyze motor performance with consistent accuracy by using the classical circuital or field approach. Using the finite element method (FEM) or other numerical methods, more accurate results can be obtained.
