Elsolutions' Directory Strategy
Elsolutions' IS could adopt a Windows 2000 or Windows XP Active Directory domain structure, where Linux users and machines would be authenticated and authorized through Samba Winbind. The IS community at large has given good reports about Winbind technology, where Linux authenticates to a machine hosted by Windows XP Active Directory. Elsolutions chooses not to pay for Windows XP servers. Its philosophy is to use open-source software where there are no hurdles to avoid.
