Chapter 9: Setting System Parameters
In this chapter, we'll look at how to use systemd utilities to set certain parameters that you used to have to set by either editing configuration files or creating symbolic links. We'll also look at the services that get involved when you use these utilities.
In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:
- Setting the locale parameter
- Setting time and time zone parameters
- Setting the hostname and machine information
If you're ready, let's jump in!
Technical requirements
The technical requirements are the same as in the previous chapters. So, fire up your Ubuntu server and AlmaLinux virtual machines and follow along.
