One of the cardinal rules of spending smart is to stop wasting money. Although that can be achieved in hundreds of ways, some topics are more controversial than others.

This chapter is likely to contain at least one section that makes you mad. And that’s okay. You can disagree and ignore the advice. But you should at least read the section and have good reasons to spend your hard-earned money on such follies as timeshare vacations, cigarette smoking, and bottled water.
