The transformation of Slovak society, the direction and design of which were determined in the late 1980s and early 1990s, represents an opportunity for the renaissance of local community and the solution of social problems according to the principle of subsidiarity. But the period has also seen the reappearance of social problems and dangers hitherto forgotten or suppressed.
