By the time The Brand Union stepped onboard to create the logo for the
Mito, Alfa Romeo’s answer to the Mini, Beetle, and Fiat 500, the car had
already been designed—the team was invited to Italy to see a prototype
sculpted entirely out of clay—and the automaker was gearing up for
launch.
Because much of the car’s style and attitude were built in to its streamlined
physicality and first-class engineering, the question then became, “What
could the name, and logo, express that the car couldn’t say on its own?”
