Chapter 13. Using multiple databases
One of the major components of LearningSpace 5 Core server is the RDBMS.
Depending on the architecture you planned for deploying LearningSpace, you
can have from one DB server with one database up to several servers with
several databases on each.
Having several databases can be useful in the following circumstances:
If a corporation has several large branches, it may make sense to have the
course administration handled separately for each branch.
If there is a need to store data at widely-separated places, ASP architecture
that provides access to several customers can be used.
A separate database for course development and testing can be used for
pilots and evaluations prior to publishing the course in the working
environment.
