Ponder this: How often do your employees have to choose between work and family?
What do we mean by the word family? It depends. Some of you might immediately picture small children and two parents. Others picture a young newlywed couple, a single male caring for his aging father, or the members of a large extended family. In the United States, a Gen-Xer and her dog could be a family, while in other countries the pet seldom qualifies. If you’ve been raised in a Western culture, you might see most issues through the lens of impact on individuals. In many other cultures, the overriding lens is impact on the family and community.
