At this point, you may be thinking, “I know how to use text editors on other operating systems. I can use Notepad on Windows. Why are we devoting an entire chapter to text editors in this book?” There are two reasons:
• Knowing how to use a text editor is absolutely critical to being able to manage a Linux system. If you can’t use a text editor, you will struggle with the topics presented throughout the rest of this book.
• Linux editors, frankly, are difficult for most new users to learn how to use, especially if you’re coming from a Windows background.
