Configuring the Bootloader

As you can see, the bootloader plays an extremely important role in the Linux boot process. Without a bootloader, the BIOS wouldn’t be able to load an operating system off of the system’s hard disk drive. Therefore, it’s very important that you have a sound understanding of how to configure the bootloaders used by Linux.

As with so many aspects of Linux, you can choose from many different bootloaders to use with your Linux system. You can even use a Windows bootloader to load your Linux kernel and vice versa!
