Sharing Files with Others

You can share files on your computer with other network users. To do this, you must do two things:

1.
Use the File Sharing control panel to set networking options and turn on file sharing.
2.
Set privileges for the items that you want to share.

I explain how to do all of these things on the next few pages.

Tip

File sharing is allowed on an individual or group basis determined by users and groups:

  • A user is an individual account consisting of a user name and password.

  • A group is a number of users with the same privileges.
