Chapter 2. Server Tools

When you install Mac OS X Server, the Installer application automatically installs a package called ServerAdministrationSoftware.pkg, which is also installed later on any Mac OS X computer, allowing for remote management of your server. Within this package are all the tools needed to manage Mac OS X Server. Some of these tools can only be run from the command line. Some only work with the Xserve and the Xserve RAID. Some are only important if you’re moving from an older server version, such as AppleShare IP or Mac OS X Server 1.2.
