2.6. Summary

In this chapter, I covered some of the ways to prevent your Mac from being stolen or to recover it if it is. I described a variety of locks and enclosures you can use to physically secure a Mac as well as alarms that can go off if your Mac is moved or separated from you by more than a small distance. I discussed ways of marking your Mac to identify it and aid police (or anyone else who might stumble upon your missing computer) in returning it to you, such as tracking stickers and marking it with your driver's license number. And I covered several techniques that you can use to track a Mac that's gone missing by using special software or Back to My Mac to discover its whereabouts and provide information the police can use to recover it.
