M2M interworking technologies and underlying market considerations

Abstract
It has become clear that each of the machine-to-machine (M2M) technologies will have their own market share. Interoperation between these heterogeneous sets of technologies is therefore paramount. The focus of this chapter is hence to review some of the important issues related to interoperability between the different available technologies at different protocol levels. The chapter will also provide a glimpse of the internetworking impact on the current M2M market and will discuss future trends on the subject.
