If you are curious about the ports and cables attached to your Mac, you can learn more about them here. If you’d rather get right to learning how to use your Mac, you can skip to Chapter 3, “Starting Up and Shutting Down.”

Every computer has two parts: the hardware and the software. The hardware is the physical part, such as the case, screen, keyboard, and so on. The software is the digital part, such as the operating system, programs, and your files.
