Databases are an extremely powerful, but often misunderstood, tool for building Web-based applications. Although the primary purpose of a database, as the name might suggest, is to provide a container for data, it’s a common misconception to assume that the data is just numbers, or names and addresses, or really anything specific.
Databases can contain everything from a price list, to video files, to an entire magazine article.
