Chapter 7. Displaying Query Results

Almost every dynamic page you create will involve displaying the results of database queries, or recordsets, as they’re called in Dreamweaver MX. The results of a query can be as simple as a single field from a single record, or as extensive as 50 records, each with 15 fields. In Chapter 5 we covered simple methods for displaying a single record from a recordset.

Query results can be any request for a record or for several records from a database. In Web terms, the user’s query will be the equivalent of “Give me the ZIP Code for Peculiar, Missouri” or “Show me red T-shirts” or “List all the classes in the art department offered on Wednesdays.”
