Visual assets make up the usable part of your interface. While you can draw most of what you want in Flash, often you'll import assets from other sources. When we talk about visual assets (as opposed to sounds, XML, and other things loaded into memory), we're generally talking about importing bitmapped artwork and vector artwork.
This chapter reviews the differences between those two types of art, and then focuses on some bitmap features that are particularly useful to a designer in need.
