A scanner isn’t much good to you unless you actually use it to scan documents, pictures, and whatever else might strike your fancy. Scanning is usually pretty straightforward, but it can get a bit complicated if the job calls for it. For example, scanning a text document may require minimal settings changes, while scanning a photo may require extensive adjustments to color, contrast, resolution, and more settings. Most scanner manufacturers offer many settings that you can customize to fit your needs, but if you don’t understand the driver software and its functionality, it can be quite daunting at times. You can never go wrong by reading the documentation that comes with your scanner!
