CASE STORYThe Fullerton Hotels and Resorts, Singapore (and Sydney)
In early 2020, I had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened Fullerton Hotel in Sydney. (Little did I know it would be the last time I stayed in a hotel for quite a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic that took the world by storm in early 2020. If I had known, I really would have made the most of room service and the mini bar.)
It was on this trip, however, that I noticed a beautiful coffee table–style book on the display table as I was walking to my room. It was titled Fullerton Stories — Rediscovering Singapore's Heritage. Intrigued, I had a flick through it and took a photo of the cover to remind myself to look into it at some point.
Then about a week later, my professional world as I knew it, of travel, room service and eating Pringles from the mini bar, came to a dramatic stop. So, I didn't really do that exploring until I started writing this book and remembered the stories I read in Sydney.
If you don't know about The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts, their signature hotels are in Singapore and Sydney, and two of the iconic buildings are former General Post Offices which have been lovingly restored into five-star luxury hotels.
