INTRODUCTION

Clinicians and health policymakers have long recognized the impact of neuropsychiatric disorders on the morbidity, mortality, and quality of life of patients. More recently, efforts have been directed to extend this understanding to include an assessment of the economic impact of these disorders and to assess the economic impact of their treatments.
