Chapter 6. Animatronic Eyes

I was lucky enough to be a child in the 80s, when the incredible creatures of The Dark Crystal, Gremlins, Harry and the Hendersons and Aliens graced the movie screen—and stirred my imagination.

I was in the sixth grade when a career evaluation at my school pointed me towards a job as a Special Effects Technician. From this point forward I knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up! In high school I aspired to become an Animatronic Engineer, bringing fascinating characters to life through artistic robotics.
