Appendix: Behavioural Bias Checklist

Cognitive biases are patterns of thought that lead to suboptimal outcomes such as poor decisions. Most of these biases are the result of mental shortcuts, logical errors, social factors, and memory shortfalls. We all suffer from biases, and most of us have many more than we realise. A fun exercise is to read the following list and mark those biases that you have observed in other people and those that you have exhibited yourself. Try to be honest.
