I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

PEACE AND QUIET WITH THE FLIP OF A SWITCH
Adding a power switch to an external drive.
To me, there is nothing more annoying than the din of a spinning hard drive and a whirring fan, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I bought my 80GB Maxtor Personal Storage 1394 drive with a plan for it to act as an offline file server and backup depository.
To my surprise, there was no power switch on the unit. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems that any product that isn’t required to be on all the time should provide some method for the user to turn it on and off. Maxtor’s ...
