The Three Versions of You

Now that you understand more about why internships are important and how to set goals for your experience, it’s time to begin the search process. Finding the right internship is a combination of researching companies, networking, and interviewing. In Chapter 2, you completed self-assessments for determining what kinds of organizations to research. That’s a great start. Now it’s time to do a deeper dive, prepare to get in front of people, and tell your story.

When you are networking and interviewing, there are three versions of you that your network connection or interviewer wants to see:

The Paper You—that’s your resume.
