As an extremely active member of the maker community, Catarina Mota is a member of NYC Resistor, research chairperson at OSHWA.org, a TED fellow, and founder of both OpenMaterials.org and EverywhereTech.org.
Catarina has dedicated a lot of time to furthering open source through her academic research and by teaching workshops on high-tech materials. She is currently working on her PhD, researching the social impact of open-source practices.
