Ward Cunningham


Ward Cunningham (∼ward/) has made many contributions to software programming and the Internet. Ward laid groundwork that established design patterns1 and extreme programming2 as common practices in computer software design. His work on design patterns led to his invention of the Wiki, which has changed the way information is collected and shared around the world on the Internet. Ward holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University.
