When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Using agile in larger projects
Agile does not guarantee project cost reduction; rather, it is designed to jump start a project with best practice leveraging. So, the first question that we need to ask before starting a project is: "To agile or not to agile?" We need to take into consideration:
- Project fit: Without any prejudice, evaluate if the project is more suitable for traditional approach or agile.
- Project manager fit: Evaluate if the project manager in discussion here is a good fit for agile or not.
- Organization fit: Is the customer environment and organization ready for an agile approach?
- Project team and stakeholder fit: Make sure the project team members are ready to follow the scrum.
