Making the Most of Conventions

Industry and association conventions are major events that you might sometimes attend to learn new ideas, connect with colleagues, and meet new people. As with meetings (see Chapter 14), you need to plan ahead for conferences to get the most out of them.

When I attend conferences with the National Speakers Association (NSA), the most valuable parts of the meeting for me are the discussions I have with colleagues over a meal or even in passing in the hallway.
