When I launched my Crisis Manager online newsletter in February 2000, at the start of the new century, I started with a few dozen readers—mostly business contacts and friends—all of whom were located in the United States. Today we have thousands of readers in 75 countries and have become required reading for management at a number of prominent companies. I don’t mention this to tout my own success (I don’t make any money from my eZine), but to point out that the awareness of the need and value of crisis management has grown exponentially in the past decade or so, and it’s done so on a worldwide basis.
