This chapter is devoted to describing the currents and signposts of commitment that we can use to stay on course. We enter this stage after defining a problem, determining its root causes, and considering options for solutions and their trade-offs. To support advancing through the commitment stage, we will focus on: (1) what commitment is, (2) how we foster it, and (3) what to do when despite our best efforts the required level of commitment does not develop but we want to stay on track.
