THE MOSCOW RULES FOR CATEGORISING REQUIREMENTS

This way of categorising requirements is associated with the Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), used in prototyping and accelerated development approaches. It sets up a disciplined way of categorising requirements, for two reasons:

  • so that the priorities are considered carefully;
  • so that, during development, decisions about timing can be made in the framework of priorities set when the requirements were defined.

Every requirement is allocated a category:
