Purging Accounts
Some administrators choose to purge inactive
accounts. But what constitutes inactivity can vary among communities. For
some, it’s never logging in. For others, it might be never posting or a combina-
tion of both and/or other factors. After a specific period of time, some admin-
istrators will delete these accounts.
The only accounts that I delete are the accounts that people never activate
via e-mail. In other words, whenever someone registers, she receives an e-mail
with a link she must visit in order for her account to be activated. If she fails
to do this after a while, I will delete her account. When I delete the actual
account, the user receives another e-mail letting her know of the deletion and
