62 Managing Professional Service Delivery: 9 Rules for Success
Developing the Communication Plan
The answers to the eight questions dene the communication strategy (i.e., what we
are going to do). The communication plan, on the other hand, can be constructed
using a simple spreadsheet template. Figure4.2 is one format that we have found
to be useful in assembling a communication plan. This format not only serves as a
vehicle to assemble answers to all of the strategy questions, but also allows one to
capture the answers for each of the audiences that have been identied in commu-
nication strategy question number two. A spreadsheet template could be designed,
using such a format, with tabs at the bottom to separate the distinct audiences.
