Time for action – cutting frames out of the frame folder layer

Now we're going to cut the frame into panels. We can perform Save As and save a copy with flat frame folder appended to the file's name.

Depending on how your page is broken down, you may want to start cutting vertical slices. For our example, there's a clear horizontal cut we can do between panel one (which serves as a smallish splash or title panel) and the rest of the panels. Be mindful about the second and fourth panels (see the screenshot of the page earlier in this chapter) because the third and fifth panels are a single panel. This is how things roll in comics.

  1. With the cutting frame tool active, set Shape of curve to Linear and Separate folder to Not change.
