Time for action – placing and manipulating a 3D material

We'll be taking an ordinary object and getting a good idea of how to perform basic 3D operations in Manga Studio. There's a good lot of info in this exercise. A simple mug was chosen as it's easy to see the results of our actions; it's also small enough for us to get a good feel of the actions without the lag time a larger and more complex object will have.

Tip

When working with 3D objects, moving an object is called translating or translation. Rotating used in 2D is still called rotating in 3D, but the direction and axis are usually mentioned.

We should still have Manga Studio open, along with a blank document. Save that document with the name 3dtest.lip. Let's get started.
