The Lower Lempa River Valley,El Salvador: Risk Reduction andDevelopment Project
INTRODUCTION
Between July 2000 and April 2001, the author had the opportunity to coordinate a group of consultants working on a project aimed at promoting disaster risk reduction and sustainable development in the Lower Lempa River Valley, El Salvador. This work was undertaken for the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources and financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
