The Oliver Wight Class A Standard for Business Excellence, 7th edition1 (current structure used for Class A focus) and The Oliver Wight ABCD Checklist for Operational Excellence, preceding editions (original structure used for Class A focus) were published to help companies become the best they can be in business planning, control, and execution. Being the best of the best is what Class A is all about. Many companies take pride in achieving Class A status and the results that come along with this lofty accomplishment.
However, most companies that attain Class A status tend not to be completely satisfied. In fact, they tend to become more aggressive in pushing forward, knowing they can do even better. “Yes, we are good and probably better than our competition, but we all know that we can be even better with just a little more effort” is a comment commonly heard from Class A companies. Responding to this need, Oliver Wight International initially created The Oliver Wight ABCD Checklist for Operational Excellence followed by The Oliver Wight Class A Standard for Business Excellence.
