The Oliver Wight Proven Path (shown in Figure B.1) to a successful implementation or reimplementation was described in detail in Chapters 18 (covering the Lead Phase), 19 (covering the Transform Phase), and 20 (covering the Own Phase). In this appendix, a sample detailed activities or task list (see Figure B.2) is offered as an example to assist the master planning and scheduling spinoff task team in charting their journey to attaining Class A recognition (T3 on the Planning and Control maturity chart) and/or Class A certification (T4 on the Planning and Control maturity chart).
All milestones called out on The Proven Path are highlighted in the detailed activities or task listing. Additionally, other possible activities and tasks are listed that the MPS initiative improvement team may want to include as landmarks or milestones that the company will pass during its journey to a better way of doing planning and scheduling and control.
Again, the reader is cautioned that the activities or task list shown in this appendix is only an example and should not be used as is and without tailoring it to the company implementing (or reimplementing) a master planning and scheduling improvement initiative.
