Add and Delete Layers
Layers can help you organize the objects you use in your Flash projects. When you open a new document, the Flash Timeline has a single layer. As your project becomes bigger, it is likely to have more objects. Instead of placing all of the objects on a single layer, which makes them difficult to locate and edit, you can add layers to the Timeline, and organize and place the objects on these separate layers.
Layers are similar to transparent sheets stacked on top of each other. Each layer lets you see through to the layer below until you add an object. On the Stage, objects you place on higher layers appear to be in front of objects placed on lower layers. When creating your Flash document, you can ...
