One thing to consider when deploying to a larger scale is where to put the components of your build process. You could be relying on one or more websites for the JDK, or even Cassandra itself. How do you deploy a new node if those sites go down, and you can't reach a suitable mirror?
The solution is to construct a repository of all your build’s components, which prevents you from having to download everything for each deploy. The build process should use something like a network storage drive, or even a tool like JFrog Artifactory.
Remember that relying on connectivity to multiple, remote internet locations simply adds more points of failure to your deployment or build process.
