Managing the Bill of Materials
In Inventor, the BOM is the internal, real-time database that exists within every assembly. Real-time means that as components are added to the assembly, they are automatically added and counted in the BOM. Although you might be accustomed to referring to the tabled list of parts on the 2D drawing as a bill of materials, in Inventor such a table is called a parts list. Parts lists pull directly from the assembly BOM.
